Top hockey news for Friday, January 26

With the NHL All-Star Game this weekend, the NHL finally gets one right. With Taylor Hall injured, the NHL invites Brian Boyle to replace him and he accepts.

Speaking of All-Star weekend, the league announced some overhauls to the annual skills competition.

The Columbus Blue Jackets received good news. Cam Atkinson returned to the lineup and his impact was felt right away.

Edmonton Oilers Connor McDavid told the NHL “Review This” after scoring shootout winner.

One thing that is plaguing the NHL is the replay system. With replay becoming more common, it appears the NHL refs are interfering with common sense.

The Chicago Blackhawks finally broke out of their slump. Rookie Alex DeBrincat had a historic night to lead Chicago to victory.

The rest of the Metro division better be on alert as the Pittsburgh Penguins are finding their winning groove again.

Enjoy All-Star Weekend.
