Top Hockey News Of The Day – November 2nd

– They’ve now met four times in their careers, and Sid is perfect against Connor. Thanks to another typical late game choke job at home by the Oilers, Crosby and his Penguins bounced back from an embarrassing loss on Sunday to edge Edmonton 3-2. While Connor has seven points to Sid’s one, Crosby is now 4-0-0 against McDavid. Full recap of the game from the folks at Pensburgh here.

– After a tough loss in Patrick Marleau’s return to San Jose on Monday, the Maple Leafs bounced back last night to take down the Anaheim Ducks in Orange County. Fittingly it was Marleau, who owned the Ducks as a member of the Sharks, who scored the game winner. The fine folk over at The Leafs Nation recap the road victory here.

– Even though they lost (again) and somehow Peter Chiarelli is wasting last year’s MVP, Connor McDavid set up another goal with an absolutely beautiful assist. Pete Blackburn from CBS Sports looks at another terrific moment from number 97 here.

– Could the Bruins be bringing back and old friend? Alexander Khoklachev is currently in the KHL, but he had a good relationship with now Bruin coach Bruce Cassidy when the two were at AHL Providence together. The folks at Stanley Cup of Chowder take a look at the possibility here.
