Puck Wire: Top Hockey News Of The Day – November 30

Today, we’ll look at the trade between Anahiem and New Jersey, McDavid V. Matthews, and some heartbreaking news out of Vancouver.

– It may not be trading season just yet, but don’t tell that to the Ducks and Devils. They complete a cross-conference trade this morning that set Sami Vatanen and a pick to New Jersey in exchange for Adam Henrique, Joseph Blandisi and a draft choice. All About The Jersey breaks it all down here. And Jim Biringer of Murphy’s Hockey Law has his take here.

– Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews will meet for the third time tonight at Rogers Place in Edmonton. After both teams made the playoffs a year ago, the Oilers and Leafs are going in vastly different directions this season. Avry of The Oilers Rig gets you set for tonight’s battle here.

– Derek Dorsett’s NHL career is over. After leaving the Canucks during the current road trip because of back pain fro ma previous operation, Dorsett is taking the advice of doctors and ending his career. It’s a sad story but one that show courage from Dorsett. He worked his tail off to keep playing and admirably is putting his health first here. NBC Sports has more here.

– With Vegas being a success both on and off the ice this season, many people are starting to ask where the 32nd NHL team will eventually set up shop. Seattle has long been an appealing market for the NHL, and many believe that will be the location. All that said, what even makes Seattle and appealing market? The Athletic’s Katie Strang dives into that here.
